2027 International Congress on Medieval Studies

The 62nd International Congress on Medieval Studies (ICMS) will take place in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May 2027. Organized by the Medieval Institute at Western Michigan University, the Congress is one of the largest annual gatherings of medievalists, bringing together scholars from across disciplines and around the world to share research, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration.


The 2027 Congress will feature a wide-ranging program of scholarly sessions, with opportunities for participation in person and online. The Call for Papers is now open, with proposals due September 15, 2026.

2027 Northeast Modern Language Association Convention

The 58th Annual Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) Convention will take place March 6–9, 2027, at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. NeMLA brings together scholars and students working across literature, language, culture, and the humanities.


The 2027 convention takes “Empowering Communities” as its presidential theme, inviting scholarship that explores cultural knowledge, agency, collaboration, and the ways communities create spaces for change. The convention welcomes a wide range of scholarly approaches and topics, both within and beyond the annual theme.


Individual paper abstracts are due September 30, 2026. The convention offers a variety of session formats, including panels, seminars, roundtables, creative sessions, and workshops, with opportunities for in-person, virtual, and hybrid participation.
